Apart from PANKE, Brunnen 70 and Stattbad, Wedding didn’t really have a whole lot of clubs to offer. Now, Humboldthain Club, right next to the S‑Bahn station Humboldthain, is a new contact point for the spoiled Berlin audience.
The S‑Bahn basically stops right in Humbolthain Club: In the train, you can already feel the beat – it’s super easy to get there, a first plus. At the entrance, you’ll be greeted by chess-playing bouncers. No long line, no evil doorman sending you back home – life here is easy. After paying your entrance fee (10 €), you’ll be permitted to enter the sacred halls of Humboldthain Club.
The first eye-catcher is the outdoor area: a lot of sand, colourful murals, selfmade chairs, a bonfire, a hammock. In a tree, a plush parrot is hiding. Even winterly temperatures can’t deter you from having a little chat out here.
The club itself also offers a lot of creative decoration: Saint Mary behind a colourful counter, psychedelic masks and a handmade aquarium fight for your attention. In a chillout area (’shot bar’), a game console invites you to have a little break.
The audience is mixed, offering Hipsters and tourists as well as real Weddingers. The music is an electro/techno/house mix typical for Berlin, served by famous DJs. For your musical well-being, there are two indoor floors and, in summer for after work parties, the outdoor area. Drinks aren’t cheap but come for normal Berlin club prices.
By the way: The club is run by a collective of around 20 people who want to include the neighborhood into the scene by offering lectures and concerts – stay tuned on what else Humboldthain is going to offer!
