Leap Innovations in Radiology and Cardiology: How AI-Driven Breakthroughs are Transforming Diagnostics and Interventions Today and Redefining Precision Tomorrow.

In this talk, Prof. Peitgen reveals how cutting-edge AI is revolutionizing radiology and cardiology—unlocking faster, more precise imaging and earlier diagnoses. From automated reporting and smart risk prediction to real-time support in interventions and minimally invasive procedures, he showcases breakthroughs already reshaping clinical practice. Looking ahead, he envisions a new era of precision medicine powered by continuously learning algorithms, making care more personalized, efficient, and impactful than ever before.

Heinz-Otto Peitgen is a German mathematician who has taught at the University of Bremen, the University of California, Santa Cruz, and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Among many honors, he received the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1996 and the Werner Körte Gold Medal of the German Society of Surgery in 2005 for developing software to identify patient-specific risks in complex liver surgery. His books on chaos and fractals were international bestsellers for decades. His research began in pure and applied mathematics and later expanded to financial mathematics, mathematics education, computer graphics, and the digital transformation of medicine. In 1995, he founded an independent medical research center that became part of the Fraunhofer Society in 2008 as Fraunhofer MeVIS.
